The Spirit of Christmas is alive and well at Big Oak Ranch. The boys are eagerly anticipating Christmas Day but are constantly reminded that Christmas is really about "Christ among us." Yesterday started off with a sponsored shopping trip to Target. You should have seen the excitement as the boys' and girls' rushed around buying gifts for themselves, friends and extended family. Last night's ranch Christmas party culminated in a beautiful ceremony of the younger children spreading the light from one candle (signifying Jesus' birth) throughout a darkened room. We all sang "Silent Night" as the light was shared from one person to another and the room was illuminated by two hundred little candles. What a wonderful illustration of how Christ has lightened our world.
